I want to share my experiences as a victim of abuse, trafficking, and exploitation that began in 2015, rooted in the troubling events associated with Gamergate. My ordeal started when a man from the gaming community, "Matthew S.," responded to my post looking for temporary gaming companionship for Grand Theft Auto Online. We connected, and later he expressed interest in having a relationship with me, knowing full well that I was married and polyamorous. Despite the long list of defamatory rumors, this was never hidden. Before any trafficking began, my privacy was breached when Matthew cyberstalked me and my business, which indicated that I might become a target during Gamergate, so I stayed alert. He lied about it many times, despite my direct inquiries, and later admitted to sharing sensitive information about me and intimate photos with someone he only ever referred to as a "friend," without my prior consent or knowledge. He did not inform me about this for a long time, which would have led me to end the relationship—if you can even call it that—had I known. This "friend" couldn't have simply stumbled upon my whereabouts over the years; whoever these people were knew it was me, were aware of who I was referring to, and knew of him, thus proving the gang-stalking and group nature of this trafficking and exploitation love scam. It felt like an orchestrated effort to invade, destroy my life, and steal control over everything I worked toward in life. Using the loverboy grooming method and social engineering, my private information—some accessed illegally—was used to monitor my social media and online presence. They employed tactics like "digging" to expose my public records en masse when they had not been there before, then contacted me with threats of exposure unless I complied with their demands, which included changing my story to one of "cheating"—a convenient narrative—and becoming his on-call sexual object. I refused, but they followed through on their threats, engaging in a clear case of sextortion and cyber-smearing that affected my clients and my multiple award-winning business. This manipulation forced me, temporarily, to comply under extreme duress, believing it would stop. The narrative Matthew presented about this friend seemed like a desperate attempt to create a separation between himself and the series of brutal acts that followed for years, affecting not just me and my family but also my clients. Everything they touched was destroyed. Matthew created false impressions with others that wreaked havoc on my life. It wasn't until I went public after enduring seven years of relentless abuse and suffering approximately $1 million in damages that I saw any potential consequences for him. During this time, I never retaliated against him or his friends; I stayed compliant and continued to collect evidence to prove my claims later. My compliance during those dark years was twisted to portray me as deceitful and a "cheater," impacting my reputation with hundreds of thousands of people and many of my clients. My husband, who witnessed much of what transpired, was also misled; our agreement for polyamory was never meant to facilitate abuse, trafficking, and exploitation—it is not what I signed up for. During my time under their control, I endured repeated sexual assaults, allegedly recorded without my knowledge or consent, with threats from his associates looming over me. I tried my utmost to stay neutral, hoping to escape safely, but their control only tightened. The pain of this exploitation was profound, culminating in attempts to end my life in 2017. This led me to seek extensive mental health treatment and dedicate myself to activism for other survivors, resulting in media exposure, researcher assistance, and increased law enforcement awareness. Mental health professionals have noted that this situation reflects classic manipulation tactics designed to isolate and intimidate me. The orchestrated abuse, allegedly involving a network working alongside Matthew, has created barriers to legal action, as obtaining the necessary evidence can be an uphill battle for victims. Companies involved failed to preserve crucial evidence and did not provide law enforcement with timely information, becoming complicit in this cycle of abuse and evading protections under Section 230 and my civil rights. Now, nine years later, my case remains under federal investigation in two countries and five different jurisdictions because he was the root of it every time, which means I have to withhold certain details of my story.
